ReplyDelete1. i like the commercials because they show how true real ads are. it's good to get awareness about that kind of stuff out.
2. it's really strange how they can turn normal everyday people into unreal supermodels.
3. yeah, sometimes looking at pictures that seem so much better than you are can make you feel insignificant. but i like myself the way i am.
set 2
1. those girls, no offense, need to get a life other than holding taffeta or playing with half-naked guys.
2. i would hate to be as skinny as that, i mean, i love to eat. i feel nothing but pity for them.
3. not really, i mean, no one is that perfect.
4. CASH PLEASE :)
1. I liked the first video because it was cool showing how they turned a girl into a really pretty model. I didnt really like the second video because it was weird how they showed tons of things.
ReplyDelete2. I feel like i want to be a pretty model like her. No not really i see really pretty models like that to.
3. Yes. Because i sometimes feel like i have tons of stuff exploded to me like her.
1. They look like really pretty models. They look like they feel happy to be there. But the first seems like shes confused
2. I feel like i don't look like that. And that i want to look like them when i grow up.
3. No. It all is the same in a way. But that there all actually girls with tons of makeup on and professional hairstylists.
4. 20$ cash! please!
1. The first video was really cool to see how much the makeup artists and video people can change the way someone looks. the second video was weird because it was a bunch of stuff that i just didn't need to see.
ReplyDelete2. it makes me feel better that all super models aren't just amazingly beautiful all the time. probably a lot of advertisements are edited to make the girls seem unnaturally pretty.
3. i never really feel like that girl, but i can understand people that might. the media gives girls the idea that they need to change their body in order to be prettier when really they are probably all edited
1. the first girl looks like she's really uncomfortable because of the weird position shes in. she's extremely skinny and creepy looking. the second girl is really pretty but also really skinny. she is in a much more natural position which i think makes her look less awkward.
2. to me the first girl looks really stupid and ugly and i hope i never look like that!
3. it makes me realize how much someone can edit a picture and how unrealistic it is.
4. cash please!!!!
1. I liked these videos because I feel like the thing that happened in the first commerical happens alot in the beauty industry. I thought that helped to impact people on beauty and make them more aware on what is happening with this preciption on beauty.
ReplyDelete2. After watching the video "Evolution" I felt like most of the ads that we see day to day happen alot like this one because they want the people to buy the product. In order to do so, they need to make sure that the person looks perfect, literally.
3. I can relate to the girl in this video because I feel when we are growing up, we tend to look at things like movies and tv to see how we are going to act and when it is negitive then the girls act that way.

1. I think that the women in this ad are featured as "sexy" and as having a good body. They look this way too. I think that they feel confident and sexy.
ReplyDelete2. I feel like maybe if I buy these different things than maybe I will be as good looking as them.
3. I dont think that my opion has changed because I have seen all of these before and we have done an exercise similar to this one. I do realize that the media has a negitive affect on teenage girls.
4. I would like cash please. Thank you so much for letting me do this with you!!

ReplyDelete1 I did not like the videos because they werent the real people. It was like that gurl wasnt pretty enough so they had to make her look prettier for there own satifaction. It made me think that those people didnt understand that God made her look like tha for a reason. Not for a computer to change her look. It was not cool to me.
ReplyDelete2 I did not like it at all that girl was pretty before they did all that stuff to her. Tells me the advertisment you she isnt the way the people really look.
3 yes i can alittle because sometimes I do feel pressured by other people to look prettier but i dont usally listin to them because God made me the way i am and he has a reason for it so i just usally ignore it and move on.

1. Again, the women are very skinny and beautiful. They look kinda "too perfect" with their hair, make-up and everything else just right. Their clothes are also quite revealing. They seem exctied, care-free, and happy to be there.
2. The second ad especially, make it seem that you have to look like that to get boyfriends, but you don't, yoiu have to be nice on the inside. It makes me feel kinda disgusted that people would go through all that, doing their hair just right, wearing the skanky clothes, etc. just to "get guys".
3. I will answer this one after I have watched the videos. :)
4. Could I please have the $20 in cash? Thank you so much for letting me participate!
Set 1
ReplyDelete1. I liked the videos because it showed what people go through to be in ads and things like ads, which I think is ridiculous, but then they say that all that is wrong and you shouldn't do it. If the ads were saying that all of that stuff was right and worth it, I wouldn't like the ads.
2. After watching the "Evolution" ad, I feel like the people I see in ads and on billboards and things, aren't really "real"people. I knew that they did their hair, make-up, ect., but I didn't think that they used photoshop and all of that. The ad tells me a lot about ads seen today because now I know what the people go through to get 1 picture on 1 ad, and it kinda disgusts me.
3. I can definitely relate to the girl in "Onslaught" because I feel like there are beauty ads everywhere you look trying to get you to buy stuff, and it's annoying. Also sometimes I feel pressured to buy things to "make me look prettier", but I just ignore them.
Set 2
3. I think that the way that I look at ads has changed because it used to seem like everything was just there, but now I know that some other people and even companies think that the number of beauty ads are ridiculous and bad for the young generation.
1. I loved the videos. I e-mailed them to my friends and showed them to my parents. They really opened my eyes to show me that these models aren't what they seem to be. The woman in the end doesn't even look like the one in the beginning.
ReplyDelete2. I liked evolution the best, and now whenever I go to the drugstore and see the ads I have to wonder what the people actually look like. It takes away from the product and I now don't want to buy it.
3. I sort of can and I sort of can't. I've seen little girls wearing make up and and mascara and blush and the whole nine yards and I think they look ridiculous. People that age shouldn't be doing these things and having those influences. I try to look at normal people instead of the fashion lines.
(set two)
ReplyDelete1. The people in the advertisements look a little bit fake. Or a lot fake. The long champ ad is just stupid. She looks like she is falling asleep in a cave. The bebe ad isn't so bad, I like how she is grinning and seems genuinely happy. But now looking at those ads i have to wonder what they actually look like. The possibility of them actually looking like they do in the ads is pretty slim. It makes me take a step back and look at the ad and product differently.
2. I feel a little bit cheated in a sense. I now know that's not what they really look like, and that's it's all fake.
3. It changed my mind set completely. (see previous answers) I can't believe they would change their faces and legs and hair color and everything else about these women. They would be beautiful the way they were. By knowing the behind-the-scenes type of stuff I am actually disgusted.
4. I'm sorry this is so late!!!! (cash...) :)
